About the company

The company behind Paneuromix, which started in 2012, is registered in the Netherlands, Holland. Their only brand is Paneuromix which they claim to be a suitable nootropic for long-term use.

Reading the ‘about us’ page on their website, it feels like there is lack of scientific evidence to support this ethos and claims around this supplement.

They openly admit their product is not perfect, but instead, look for suggestions from their customers on ways they can improve Paneuromix.

To us, this sounds like a company who aren’t 100% confident in their product.

“Our search will continue in the future, we will fine-tune the formula more and possibly add new compounds. If you have any suggestions please contact us about it!”

Ingredients and how they work

L-Alpha Glycerylphosphorylcholine is a natural choline compound and precursor for acetyl-choline. Acetyl-choline is a neurotransmitter of importance for short-term memory and learning

Bacopa Monnieri, also known as a nootropic, which is a traditional medicine used for longevity and cognitive enhancement. Supplementation can reduce anxiety and improve memory formation.

Huperzine-A is a powerful compound found in Huperzia Serrata also called Chinese Club Moss. Huperzine-A is known to inhibit the break-down of acetyl-choline. By boosting acetylcholine levels, your memory also improves slightly.

Gastrodia Elata balances neurotransmitter levels and supports coping with stress.

DMAE is short for Dimethylaminoethanol. DMAE reduce build-up of the age pigmentation known as beta-amyloid. It is the active component of Centrophenoxine, or Lucidril, a pharmaceutical designed for cognitive health in the elderly.

L-theanine is an amino-acid found mainly in tea. It is known to move easily across the blood-brain barrier. Once there, it influences several neurotransmitters that relaxes the brain.

Phosphatidyl Serine is a fosfolipide on the inner layer of all human cells, especially in the brain. Here it keeps cell membranes flexible and easily permeable.

Rhodiola rosea is a succulent and seen by herbalist as an adaptogen. Rhodiola rosea is known to simulate body and mind when fatigued, but also promote calmness when feeling restlessness.

Ginkgo biloba-extract is extracted from the leaves of the Ginkgo Biloba tree. Supposed to be regarded as a grain nutrient.

Panax Ginseng has a long reputation as an adaptogen. It increases mental energy and improves mood.

Vitamin B12 supports the operation of Paneuromix and is particularly known for its effect on mental energy.

Vitamin B6 has a calming effect, while energetically.

It’s advised to start with 1 capsule in the morning. Then, gradually increase the dosage up to the recommended daily intake of 3 capsules.

However, be careful not to take too late in the day, as it can cause insomnia due to the stimulants inside each capsule.

If you respond well to the stimulants and other ingredients, they suggest increasing the dosage to 3 times per day. Either all at once, or spread out throughout the day.

Side effects

While there may not be and dangerous side effects associated with the ingredients in Paneuromix, it does however, highlight the questions of value for money when it comes to the ingredients they have chosen.

Paneuromix has Panax Ginseng, Ginkgo biloba-extract, and L-theanine, which all act to stimulate the brain and central nervous system much like caffeine.

This leaves us with the question; is this a cheap imitation directed at stimulating the mind with adaptogens – instead of supplying the brain with natural ingredients such as Lions Maine, which has been proven to boost brain power over long periods of time in a safe and natural way.

Although Paneuromix does contain some natural ingredients, thy are not the strongest when it comes to improving cognitive function naturally – instead they have opted to use stimulants and amino acids to promote cognitive improvements that mimic caffeine.

Pros y cons

  • Contains natural ingredients

  • Uses stimulants to promote cognitive function
  • Mimics caffeine to stimulate the mind
  • Lacks scientific support on their website to back up their claims

Even though Paneuromix looks to be a suitable supplement to boost cognitive function, it’s lacking in some deep research.

The company ‘Paneuromix‘ have decided to use ingredients that act in a similar way to caffeine, which will result in a stimulating effect – leading you into believing that your cognitive abilities are improving, but, this is only short-lived.

Once you stop taking the product, the effects will almost certainly disappear. This is why we recommend using other supplements, with more natural ingredients, along with a deeper scope of research associated with the nootropic.

By using a well-researched nootropic, which has more ‘natural’ ingredients, then, you’ll be more likely to feel the positive effects for longer, not just on a short-term basis.
