Norcodrene by PEScience has delivered what they claim to be a “Breakthrough Thermogenic” that will “delivering a smooth energetic feel and thermogenic effect”.
While on the quest to lose weight, and keep it off, choosing the right fat burner can be incredibly time-consuming and frustrating as no two supplements are the same.
However, losing weight and looking after our health can be achieved with the help of the right supplement.
PEScience claims to be that supplement. On the outside, it does have some very useful benefits and could possibly work for some people. However, looking a little deeper, it may be at your own risk.
Let’s have a closer look and see if it’s the right fat burner for you.
- Breakthrough Thermogenic
- Supports Energy
- Supports Mood
Norcodrene claims it; “supports four main systems: Energy, Thermogenesis, Mood, & Stress. The multi-faceted formula is designed for all ingredients to work in harmony, delivering a smooth energetic feel and thermogenic effect to the users.”
On a personal note, I’m not really sold with the name of the product, “Norcodrene” sounds like a type of medicine rather than a professional fat burner.
Also, their claims and the way they present their supplement is a little suspect to me. For example, by saying “delivering a smooth energetic feel and thermogenic effect to the users.” Who are “the users” are we characters in the film Tron or talking to human beings here?
Another point on the claimed benefits, “Supports Mood” what type of mood is that I wonder, good or bad?
And last but not least, “Breakthrough Thermogenic” that’s a mighty bold claim.
Okay, with the rant over with let’s access the supplement a little deeper. I do see some ingredients that have merit to fat loss, such as Caffeine and Grapefruit Seed Extract and Yohimbe, but even then I’m not convinced with the use of Yohimbe in fat burning supplements.
“If you are prone to anxiety, you should be careful when taking Yohimbine. As a stimulant, Yohimbine works by increasing the levels of adrenaline in your body. This process can trigger anxiety or panic attacks if you’re predisposed to them.” – DrEd.com
A study on the positive effects of taking Yohimbine for erectile dysfunction, with negative effects for people prone to anxiety. – https://www.dred.com/uk/yohimbine.html
There are some ingredients here that will cut through fat cells and increase metabolisms to help burn more calories, however, it’s a proprietary blend of ingredients, so we won’t know for sure how much of each ingredient we’re getting.

A Closer Look – What’s Inside
Cirsium Oligophyllum: This plant is related closely to the thistle family plants, it’s come into the spotlight in recent years after a group of Japanese scientists found it to hold some fat burning properties. However, other studies have yet to be done to prove it’s effectiveness.
Grapefruit Seed Extract: GSE is a powerful and natural antiseptic which holds some good anti-fungal qualities. It’s also been said to help boost the immune system.
Selaginella Tamariscina Extract (Standardized for Amentoflavone): As a bioflavonoid, the main component is amentoflavone, which is famous for its ability to directly increase strength. Also, amentoflavone helps with insulin sensitivity, which could aid fat loss.
Yohimbe Bark Extract: A huge favorite among almost 90% of fat burners on the market. Yohimbe acts to stimulate the nervous system and increase adrenaline. This helps to a boost fat burning by the impact it has on the beta subunits. However, caution is advised when taking this supplement. When used incorrectly, or overused, it can cause serious side effects, such as fainting, heart palpitations, dizziness, anxiety and a whole host of other side effects.
Nelumbo Nucifera: Widely known around the world as “Blue Lotus” it’s been used as a herbal supplement for decades to alleviate irritations with digestion. They could have added this ingredient to combat the other ingredients and their possible side effects.
Caffeine: Probably the most common of all ingredients in a fat burner, caffeine boosts the body’s metabolism which aids fat loss by using additional calories as energy.
Although I can agree with some of their ingredients such as caffeine and Grapefruit Seed Extract, I’m always a little worried on the use of Yohimbe. On its own, Yohimbe can safe when taken in small doses, the problem starts when it’s taken above the recommended dosage, with is 14mg per day.
Not only that, when mixed with other ingredients such as caffeine the side effects are more likely to become more apparent. Therefore, there could serious side effects following supplementation this fat burner.

It’s always good to see the use of natural products when trying to promote fat loss. Although there are some other natural ingredients missing, such as Cayenne Pepper and Piperine, or Green Tea perhaps.
But even though Norcodrene doesn’t contain these ingredients, and it’s a made up of a proprietary blend of ingredients, it’s receiving some positive reviews online.
However, one thing I will always stand by it that if a company uses a proprietary blend, especially if they are using ingredients such as Yohimbe that can cause side effects of taken too much, I cannot recommend this product at this moment in time.
Perhaps in the future, they’ll think things over and change the way they measure their ingredients, but until then, I’m not sold.
